Maitake Bars

These tasty chewy granola bars have become a favorite of our farmer’s market customers! Packed with wholesome ingredients such as whole-grain oats, coconut, flax seed, almonds and our own Funga bits (caramelized maitake mushrooms), these gluten free treats are the perfect snack to bring with you on any adventure.  Enjoy them on their own or break them up into pieces to add crunch to yogurt, breakfast bowls or as a topping on your favorite dessert.

Did you know…Granola (or granula as it was known in the 19th century), was first invented in 1863 by Caleb Jackson, the owner of a prominent health spa in upstate NY.  The cold breakfast cereal, consisting of graham flour and whole-grain products was given to hydrotherapy patients as part of a healthy, wholesome diet. Kellogg’s created a similar product later and changed the name to granola to avoid any legal issues.
