Mushroom Socks

Keep your toes warm and close to the forest this winter with our crew length socks featuring a collection of wild mushrooms. These cozy socks are made of a soft cotton blend with a comfort top that allows the sock to stay up without binding.

Available in charcoal heather or black.  Men and women sizes.

Did you know… Socks date back to the Stone Age when feet and ankles were originally covered with animal skins.  Centuries later, Ancient Greeks tied matted animal hair around their ankles and called them piloi, the Jutes living in Northern lands wore what is considered the first knitted socks and the Egyptians c. 400AD apparently donned two-toed socks presumably to wear with their sandals. During the 15th century individual hose, worn almost exclusively by noble men, were combined and evolved into luxurious stockings made of rich velvet, wool and colorful silks. Stockings eventually became shorter with the onset of the longer trousers and the modern short sock was born.
